Wellness Center

In honor of Mental Health Awareness Month, MHS would like to thank the MJUSD Board for supporting efforts to improve wellness at Marysville High School.
 
This year, we were able to hire a wellness paraeducator, Jalene Valle, who keeps our wellness center in the M building open throughout the day. Working alongside one of our ORCs, Nakie Vang, and representatives from Yuba County Office of Education, our wellness team meets with multiple students each day on both a drop in and referral basis. Next year, we plan to expand services with a site based social worker.
 
Recent renovations, including new furniture, new fidgets, more art supplies, a small waterfall, and greenery, have made the wellness center a more welcoming location for students. To encourage participation and wellness, our center has hosted multiple workshops this year.
